As children, we are authentic and unfeigned in everything we do.
We are habitually disposed to speak what is true and act genuinely.
By adopting the behavior patterns of our surrounding culture during socialization, we lose this quality. We are taught to not always tell the truth, to lie, even if it is just to not harm others. We are infiltrated with stereotypes such as racism and social status, and we learn how to disguise our real nature behind a false appearance.
This is what Troy is about - a covering worn on the face to conceal one's true colors.
Borrowing from the Greek myth of the Trojan horse, Troy refers to the act of deliberately tricking someone with destructive intent. The trick causes the city of Troy to invite the enemy into its own protected area, not recognizing the truth disguised by an apparently benign exterior.
